DONDER

Donder is a striking young stallion with exceptional talent, promising a very successful career as a top class showjumper. His beautiful type is emphasized by his correct conformation, impressive powerful movement and his extraordinary technique and scope over a fence. He combines the best Holstein lines through his sire Caretino and damsire Contender.

Pedigree

Donder’s sire Caretino, is the last active Holstein stallion by the legendary Caletto II, himself described as a stallion that embraced all the breeding goals of the entire Holstein breed. Caretino has proven his outstanding combinations of genes in the sport. After successful participation at the Bundeschampionat as a 5 and 6-year old, he could already demonstrate his talent in international competitions at the age of 7. He has since represented Denmark at Nations Cup level.

As a sire Caretino is in a League of his own, siring 59 graded stallions to date. Furthermore, successful show-jumping horses by Caretino include:

Ballerina (Markus Merschformann) Team Gold European Championships 1997, Charlottenhof’s Chandra (Soren von Ronne) Team Bronze European Championships 2001, Bottger’s Calando (JanneFriederike-Meyer) German Champion 2006, Chianti La Silla (Rolf-Goran Bensgtsson) winner World Cup Qualifier in Monterrey 2006, Cristallo (Richard Spooner) winner of the Grand Prix Monte Carlo, Chupa Chup (Bernardo Alves) winner of the Grand Prix Hamburg as well as the international show-jumping horses Caretano Z, Caridor Z, Crocodile Dandy, Conally, Cathleen, Caresino and Calestino.

Despite his obvious talent as a jumper he also proved to be a valuable sire siring top class international dressage horses such as Cockney, Grand Prix horse with Nadine Capellmann (GER).

Donder’s damsire Contender is a very modern blood-type stallion who also takes a place among the world’s top sires. The list of his offspring is topped by the German Gold medal winning horses Montender (Christian Ahlmann) and Checkmate (Meredith Micheals-Beerbaum). Successful offspring include triple Derby winner Cillin (Toni Hassmann), Grand Prix winner Controe (Marco Kutscher) and Aachen winner Constantin (Markus Beerbaum).

With over 114 approved sons Contender proves his superiority as a sire of top class sport horses. In 2006, Holstein grading champion Cubito was auctioned for €400,000, firmly reinforcing Contender’s place at the top of Holstein breeding.

Donder is fully licensed with the Anglo European Studbook and will be available at stud for 2011.
