Espen R's sire Escudo I was the 2009 Hanoverian stallion of the year, he is one of the sons of the Celle state stallion Espri, who is known worldwide for producing outstanding jumping horses such as E.T. His Dam Cortina is by Cor de la breye, who is one of the most influential sires in modern warmblood breeding. He is known as the "reserve stallion of the century" second only to Landgraf I. His name astute breeders like to see, especially on the mare line for Cor de la Breye which tends to give great technique over a fence. Espen R has already qualified for the Newcomers and Foxhunter second rounds and he is now competing at 1.30 with scope to go much further.
